A couple years ago I decided to spruce up my son’s bedroom and make it bigger boy themed. It is so sad when it is time to take out the rocking chair and repurpose the changing table. My sister bought a Latt Table at Ikea and painted it two toned and it looked really nice. She used it as a little table for the kids to sit at in the dining area. If you look on Pinterest there are so many different things you can do with this little table set. I had a small space in Caden’s bedroom I wanted to dedicate to a workstation to work on Legos, paint, or eat a snack. Since I was already going to Ikea for storage containers this little table would also work perfectly for the price and the small space. It comes with a table and 2 chairs for $29.

I had an idea to use some leftover material I had to help decorate and tie in the colors in the bedroom. I painted the legs of the table and chairs with blue paint I had used on the train table. I used some adhesive glue spray to spay the flat part of the seat and placed the material on it spreading it firmly on all sides so there were no wrinkles or bubbles. You’ll want to use a piece that is slightly bigger about an inch on each side then cut after the glue has dried. (This material was leftover material I had from making the custom nap mat.) I let it dry for about an hour before cutting the edges so it doesn’t slide around while cutting. When I cut the edges, I left enough material to tuck into the sides but not enough to hang under. The flat part of the seat is placed between the legs and screwed together so you can make sure all the material is tucked in on the edges before screwing tightly. I also added some cut material to go on the top back of the chair and attached it the same way. I sprayed and applied the material starting at the back and going under and around making sure all wrinkles and bubbles were out and then cut the bottom to end at the underside over the first piece.
My sister painted the top of her table with chalkboard paint for an idea. I left mine white. The finished product was so cute and easy. If you are looking for a way to spruce up your young child’s room/eating area this may be what you are looking for. You can use your imagination to come up with your own design. Post a picture of your Latt Table Makeover to share if you’d like. Here are some ideas I saw on google.
