This will be my first post for Disney Trips. Disney is too overwhelming to summarize in one blog post so let’s take some baby steps. First, I want to share a little easy craft you and your kids can make to help break the ice when meeting characters, specifically Princesses. For a child making conversation with characters can be overwhelming. For a little icebreaker I decided to make some Princess inspired bracelets. This way Caden had something to give and they could start talking about whatever. I would usually talk to Caden while we were in line and give him some tips like: Do you think Flounder is a fun best friend? One of my favorite memories was after we gave a bracelet to Ariel, she said she was going to put it with the rest of her thingamabobs, and asked if we knew how many she had? 20! Of course, then the song was stuck in my head. Disney Characters are so fun! They all train to sign as similar as they can so if you see one in one park and one in another it is similar.
My son was able to help me make the design and line up the beads. I would take a long piece of elastic about 10 inches, add the charm in the middle and make a knot to keep the charm in the center. Then on each side I would add the same design of beads. Make sure the bracelet has extra space then tie the ends together. Leave a little room after the knot so when it stretches it does not pull apart. I made multiple for the different dinners and parks we went to. We ended up making about 40 bracelets after the ones we made for the meet and greets we made for random little girls.
See if you can guess the Princesses below: Hint- the two on the bottom left were for our Hollywood and Vine breakfast with Disney Junior characters. Answers at the bottom.
I cannot find the same beads I originally bought but here are some that are similar. It took 22 beads to make an adult bracelet to give you an idea of how many you need. What I ordered was closest to the bag of beads below but look at the colors you want.
