Some of your kids may have heard about “Yes” day on YouTube, at least that is where mine got the idea. So, the idea of the day is that all day you have to say yes to anything asked with some rules. This would be fun for any age with whatever rules you want to imply. Our “Yes” day was pre-COVID but I could still see doing it now. Caden had been asking and asking for a “Yes” day so one day out of the blue, I woke him up and told him it was “Yes” day. He was so excited but listened as I explained my rules. He could choose where we went for lunch and dinner and he had a $50 spending limit for anything else.
I was so excited to see all the things he was going to ask of me. We had a soccer game that day. Afterwards we went to Chick fil A for lunch not too bad so far… Then he wanted to go on a shopping spree at Target. He selected a few items- he was very observant of what he could get to not go over the $50 budget. One of his purchases was a $20 foosball table that I had to put together. It was actually pretty fun. It even lit up with a switch! He asked me to play which I said yes to, haha. We played some football outside. We went to the movies where he got a special treat and then went for sushi at his favorite sushi restaurant.
Caden was in heaven! It was a fun filled day and it was all about him! I would have asked for so much more, but I didn’t dare give him any ideas. He did great and it wasn’t too bad. I would do it again. I should have documented the day more but I was in the moment. Let me know if you have ever tried a “Yes” day and what your rules were.
Love this idea!
